Privacy policy

A privacy company with a straight privacy policy. Here's exactly what we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do about it.

Who we are

This site is run by The TakeBack Group Ltd (“The Takeback”, “we”, “us”), company number 17286960, registered office [ACCOUNTANT'S ADDRESS]. We are the data controller for the personal data described below. Questions? Email hello@thetakeback.co.uk.

What we collect, and when

The only personal data we collect is what you hand us when you sign up for the free guide: your first name and your email address. We don't use tracking or advertising cookies, and we don't build a profile on you.

Why we use it (our lawful basis)

We process your details on the basis of your consent, given when you submit the signup form, in order to:

  • send you the de-Google guide and a link to read it again;
  • send you the occasional plain-English note when the law changes (digital ID, age checks and the like).

That's it. We don't email you anything else.

Who processes it

We send email through Resend (resend.com), who act as our data processor and store your name and email so we can contact you. We do not sell, rent or share your data with anyone for marketing — that would be a bit rich for a privacy company, wouldn't it. We may disclose data only where the law genuinely requires it.

How long we keep it

Until you ask us to stop, or unsubscribe. Every email we send carries a one-click unsubscribe; use it and we remove you from the list.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us to:

  • show you the data we hold about you;
  • correct it if it's wrong;
  • delete it;
  • stop using it, or withdraw your consent at any time.

Email hello@thetakeback.co.uk and we'll sort it. If you think we've mishandled your data you can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk), though we'd rather you gave us the chance to put it right first.

Cookies & local storage

We don't set advertising or analytics cookies. The only thing we store in your browser is a small flag that remembers you've opened the free guide, so you don't have to sign up twice. It stays on your device and isn't used to track you.

Changes

If we change this policy we'll update this page. Material changes to how we use your data would only ever apply with fresh consent.
